A Glorious Gift To Oregon

Educational Exhibitions
Art Park 101 hosts a variety of educational exhibitions aimed to better understand how to tread lightly on our planet.

Bioluminescent Sea Cave
Step inside our Sea Cave and discover a world where discarded materials glow with new life. This immersive installation features a hand‑built coral reef crafted entirely from recycled clothing and fabric, transformed into a shimmering underwater landscape. Under black lights, the reef comes alive in bioluminescent color, soft blues, radiant greens, and glowing pinks that pulse like the Pacific Ocean, just a few miles away.
Pull the curtain closed and you’re transported beneath the waves. Textures ripple, colors shift, and the recycled materials around you feel like they’re breathing with the tide. It’s an experience that feels like snorkeling without ever touching the water, mesmerizing, peaceful, and just a little otherworldly. A reminder that beauty can rise from what we throw away, and that imagination can illuminate even the darkest depths.

Litterella & Boris the Nature Beast
Litteralla is riding her harnessed Nature Beast alerting us to how plastics are now dominating nature and litter is found everywhere. She is pleading with us to stop littering, yet she is made of it and collects it in her “litter box” as she rides her trapped Nature Beast. They are both riding towards the Land of Hope where everyone lives sustainably and the world is a better place.
Actionable Steps You Can Take
How you can help reduce materials going into the landfill, one action at a time.
“One reusable bottle can save 1,500 plastic bottles a year.”
- Americans use 50 billion plastic water bottles every year, that’s about 150 bottles per person.
- Switching to a reusable bottle can save over 1,500 plastic bottles per person per year.
- Only about 30% of plastic bottles actually get recycled; the rest end up in landfills, oceans, or the environment.
“Clothing lasts longer than trends — and keeps 81 pounds out of the landfill.”
- The average American throws away 81 pounds of clothing each year.
- 85% of textiles end up in landfills — even though most can be reused, repurposed, or recycled.
- Extending the life of clothing by just 9 months reduces its carbon and waste footprint by 20–30%.
“Repairing instead of replacing cuts waste by up to 70%.”
- The average American produces 4.9 pounds of trash per day.
- Reusing or repairing an item instead of replacing it can reduce its environmental impact by up to 70%.
- Buying secondhand reduces the demand for new manufacturing, which accounts for 60% of global carbon emissions.
